Product

What is a digital business card?

A digital business card is a live web profile that replaces a paper card. It holds contact details, social links, files, and booking links, and you share it by NFC tap, QR, Wallet pass, email signature, or a direct link.

Is KARTEE just a digital business card platform?

No. Digital cards are one channel. KARTEE is an Enterprise Identity and Contact Capture Platform. It unifies public profiles, native Apple and Google Wallet passes, email signatures, meeting backgrounds, Vision AI paper-card scanning, link-in-bio pages, and campaign QR codes under one governed identity.

Do recipients need an app to view or save my profile?

No. Profiles open in a standard mobile browser. Recipients can save a vCard to their phone or share their own contact without downloading anything.

How do I share my digital business card?

Tap an NFC card, show a QR from your phone or Wallet pass, send a profile link, or include the live profile in your email signature and meeting background. Recipients need no app.

Can I update my card after I share it?

Yes. Edit the profile in your dashboard and the live web card updates immediately. Dynamic online Wallet passes refresh with the live profile. Airplane (offline) vCard snapshots update when the pass is reissued. Printed NFC cards keep working because they open the live profile, not a frozen file.

Does KARTEE support Arabic and right-to-left layouts?

Yes. KARTEE includes native localization and first-class Arabic RTL, so GCC and international teams can run bilingual profiles without a separate product.

Can we see how cards are used?

Yes. The admin dashboard shows profile scans, contact exchange rates, employee activity, and lead volume by event. Views and scans are usage metrics, not revenue.

Wallet, NFC and QR

Which mobile wallets does KARTEE support?

Native Apple Wallet on iOS and Google Wallet on Android. Passes follow each OS visual standard.

What is Online mode versus Airplane (offline) mode on a Wallet pass?

Online mode shows a live-profile QR that opens the current KARTEE card. Airplane (offline) mode shows a vCard QR with name, title, phone, and email that can be scanned and saved with no network.

Do recipients need KARTEE to scan a Wallet pass?

No. They scan the pass QR with the phone camera and can save the contact to the device address book.

Which phones work with NFC cards?

Most modern iPhones from iPhone 7 up, and most Android phones since 2015, can read NFC without an app. The tap opens the live profile in the browser.

Is the NFC chip storing private data?

No. The chip carries the public profile link. Private fields stay off the card. If the physical card is damaged, the live profile remains available by QR or link.

How long does an NFC chip last?

The chip is passive and does not need charging. Under normal use it typically lasts over 10 years.

How is a campaign QR different from a profile QR?

A profile QR belongs to one person's digital business card. A campaign QR sits in a corporate library for print, events, and packaging, with routing rules and aggregate scan analytics. Dynamic codes can change destination after print. Static codes cannot.

Contact capture and CRM

Does KARTEE replace Salesforce or HubSpot?

No. KARTEE is the intake layer. The mini-CRM captures, tags, and stages contacts at the point of meeting, then syncs into your corporate CRM.

Which CRMs does KARTEE connect to?

Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive, Monday.com, and Microsoft Dynamics 365, plus custom webhooks for enterprise setups.

How does the AI paper-card scanner work?

Photograph a paper card in the KARTEE web app. Vision AI drafts name, title, email, and other fields, including Arabic RTL. You review and edit before the contact is saved. This is a human-in-the-loop workflow, not an auto-save into CRM.

Do we need an App Store download for the scanner?

No. The scanner runs in the KARTEE web app. You can add a home-screen shortcut. There is no App Store or Google Play requirement.

What if a prospect does not want to share their details back?

They can choose Add Only, download your card, and leave without submitting a form.

Who owns contacts captured by employees?

Contacts sit on the company account. Administrators control visibility, export, and CRM routing. Employees do not take the book with them when they leave.

Can we capture leads offline at events?

Yes. Forms and paper-card scans stored on the device sync to the mini-CRM and connected CRM when the network returns.

Email, meetings and micro-landings

Can admins lock one email signature for the company?

Yes. Admins define the HTML template, brand, and required links. Employee data fills the template. KARTEE does not write into private mailboxes. Teams paste or import the HTML into Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, and major mobile clients.

What happens when a job title changes?

The live digital business card updates immediately. The signature text inside the mail client updates when the new HTML snippet is redeployed.

Which meeting tools work with branded backgrounds?

Any client that supports a custom image background, including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex, and GoToMeeting. The QR sits in a corner that stays clear of the speaker.

Do meeting attendees need an app to scan the background QR?

No. They point a phone camera at the screen. The code opens the live profile in a browser.

How is a micro-landing different from a digital business card?

A digital card is built for contact exchange. A micro-landing is a governed link-in-bio hub for campaigns, media, and resource lists. It does not replace your corporate website. Dynamic QR codes can point at either, and you can retarget without reprinting.

Can we host cards on our own domain?

Yes, on Enterprise. Custom domains such as id.yourcompany.com are supported, with SSL provisioning and renewal handled for that DNS setup.

Plans

Which plan should we pick?

Individual is for solo professionals. SME is for growing teams that need branded cards, signatures, and centralized leads. Enterprise is for SSO, SCIM or Azure AD directory sync, field locks, and multi-entity admin. Community is complimentary for eligible non-profits, associations, and accelerators. Startup is complimentary for eligible early-stage founders.

Are Community and Startup really free?

Yes. Eligible community groups and early-stage startups receive complimentary access to core digital identity and lead capture. There is no trial clock on Community once approved.

Is NFC required on every plan?

No. Physical NFC cards are optional. You can share through Wallet, email signatures, meeting backgrounds, and QR without hardware.

Can we move between plans without losing profiles?

Yes. You can transition from Startup through commercial plans without dropping contacts, QR codes, or digital profiles.

Where is pricing?

Commercial plan pricing is on the Plans page. Enterprise quotes for multi-entity rollouts come from the B2B team. This FAQ does not list prices.

Who can apply for Community cards, and how fast is review?

Recognized community groups, non-profits, student associations, volunteer initiatives, and social organizations. Submit the form on the Community page. Review typically returns within 3 business days.

Is the free personal card the same as a team rollout?

No. The free card is for personal use. Team branding, CRM routing, SSO, and governance sit on SME and Enterprise. Paid Individual plans can hold extra profiles for different professional contexts.

Enterprise IT and security

Which identity providers are supported?

Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, and Google Workspace, plus SAML 2.0 and OIDC for other enterprise IdPs. Directory sync uses SCIM or Azure AD.

Is KARTEE SOC 2 certified?

KARTEE is not SOC 2 certified. Controls include SSO, SCIM or Azure AD directory sync, RBAC, centralized audit logs, TLS 1.3 in transit, and AES-256 at rest. Security documentation is available on request. Do not treat the platform as ISO 27001, HIPAA, or PDPL certified.

What happens when an employee leaves?

When the person is deactivated in your directory, SCIM sync revokes portal access, disables the public card, and archives the Wallet pass.

How do field locks work with directory sync?

Admins mark directory-owned fields such as title, department, work email, and official phone. Those stay bound to SCIM or API sync. Employee-editable fields are not overwritten on each directory pass.

How do we keep every card on brand?

The admin console locks logos, palettes, job titles, and other corporate fields across profiles, signatures, and QR. People edit only the personal fields you allow.

Can we onboard without directory sync?

Yes. Use encrypted bulk CSV or XLSX import, or admin magic links, then add SCIM later.

Can a holding company run several brands?

Yes. Parent orgs keep master access, policy, and billing. Local admins apply distinct logos, colors, and domains for subsidiaries.

Industry modules and ESG

Do we have to buy an industry module to use KARTEE?

No. Modules are optional. Core identity, Wallet, QR, NFC, and lead capture work without them. Toggle modules per person or department from the same dashboard. They are not a separate product.

Where are hospitality, healthcare, or finance questions?

Sector workflows, licenses, and booking modules live on the Industries pages. This hub covers how modules attach to the platform, not every vertical FAQ.

How does KARTEE reduce paper-card impact?

Live profiles, Wallet passes, signatures, and reusable NFC cards stop the reprint cycle when titles and numbers change. The admin dashboard shows estimated paper, water, and CO2 avoided. Those figures are directional, not audited carbon accounting, and not a substitute for CSRD, GRI, or CDP disclosure.

How does the tree program work?

Every physical NFC card ordered funds the planting of a tree through reforestation partners. That is a funded planting, not a claim that KARTEE plants the tree with its own crews.

Is one NFC card worse for the environment than paper?

A single NFC card has a higher up-front footprint than one paper card. It is built to last years, while paper cards are discarded and reordered. Over that lifecycle, one durable NFC card replaces repeated paper runs.

Can we show impact to clients and ESG teams?

Yes. Export estimated savings and planted-tree counts from the dashboard for internal reports and profiles. Treat them as directional metrics.

Partnerships

Who can become a partner, and what is the commission?

Agencies, consultants, and B2B sellers with relevant client access. Partners earn 30% commission on card and license sales. Custom platform development is excluded.

How does the Ambassador program pay?

Ambassadors earn 30% lifetime commission on referred license and digital identity sales, paid on a monthly schedule. Joining is free. KARTEE handles onboarding and support.

What does white label include?

Your logo, domain, and UI, with hosting, updates, support, and documentation. Clients do not see KARTEE branding. You set client pricing. KARTEE bills a fixed monthly fee per user. There is no minimum user count.

How long does a white-label launch take?

Most white-label partners go live in 7 days after setup and onboarding.

Do partners or ambassadors need a technical team?

No. KARTEE runs infrastructure, updates, and technical support. You introduce clients and close the commercial motion.

Can a partner move to white label later?

Yes. Active partners can switch to a white-label agreement as volume grows.
